Alumnus William Crawford has been selected to serve as Director of the Outdoor Fellows Program and Head Coach of the Bass Fishing Team, two new initiatives designed to expand student opportunity and engagement while advancing the state’s growing focus on outdoor recreation, natural resource education, and workforce development.
The Õ¬Äи£ÀûÉç has announced more than 400 outstanding undergraduate students named to the President’s List and the Dean’s List for the Fall 2019 academic semester.
Õ¬Äи£ÀûÉçfall 2019 grads

The Õ¬Äи£ÀûÉç held fall commencement exercises on Saturday, Dec. 14, with President Ken Tucker conferring undergraduate, master, and education specialist degrees to students of the colleges of business, education, liberal arts, and natural sciences and mathematics, , and to the school of graduate studies. Nearly 1,000 students in the graduating class represent some 26 states across the U.S. and abroad.

The Õ¬Äи£ÀûÉç will honor a record number of nearly 1,000 graduates during fall commencement exercises Saturday, Dec. 14. The undergraduate ceremony begins at 10 a.m. in Pruitt Gymnasium on the Õ¬Äи£ÀûÉçcampus. The graduate ceremony will begin at 1:30 p.m., also at Pruitt Gymnasium. Presidential Receptions will be held prior to each ceremony and are open to all graduates and their guests at 8 a.m. and noon in the Bell Conference Center.
The Õ¬Äи£ÀûÉç presented four prestigious awards to members of its faculty and staff during the Dec. 2 Board of Trustees quarterly meeting at Bell Conference Center. The Loraine McIlwain Bell Trustee Awards and the Nellie Rose McCrory Service Excellence Award were presented to distinguished employees.
The Õ¬Äи£ÀûÉç launched its revitalized music major this fall, bringing opportunities for students with a broad range of music interests to prepare for occupations and activities. The new program is gaining popularity among students as well as community members like Charlie and Linda Muñoz, who have shown their support with a digital grand piano for performances on campus.

The Õ¬Äи£ÀûÉç has just been ranked among the top colleges and universities in the state for 2020 in a nationwide ranking. Õ¬Äи£ÀûÉçis ranked at number two, second only to the University of Alabama.

Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance recognized for offering top quality educational opportunities
During Homecoming festivities on Saturday, Oct. 12, the Õ¬Äи£ÀûÉç announced its 2019 Homecoming Queen. Ma’Kiyah Hall and the Homecoming Queen’s court were nominated and elected by the Õ¬Äи£ÀûÉçstudent body as the leading ladies of the week.
